Drama
 
Drama increases self-confidence and takes the form of acted scenes and stories, improvisation skills and using the imagination to creatively problem solve. Communication skills are developed, including volume, clarity, articulation, projection and diction. The children also learn theatre terms such as 'interval' and 'the wings' Drama at this stage is learned through buckets of fun and games that give opportunities for all abilities to shine and gain in confidence and self-belief!
 
Dance
 
Dance at Stage 1 consists of learning basic ballet techniques and increasing coordination and balance. Dance at Stage 1 is excellent for strengthening muscles and compliments preparation for other sports including football and rugby. Musical theatre, jazz, classical, contemporary and international music are all introduced as dance stimulus at Stage 1, to encourage a wide musical knowledge, and a love of expression through movement and dance.
 
Singing
 
Singing and making music at Stage 1 are an intrinsic part of the teachings. At this stage, music and learning songs increases mental agility and memory.Using the ACTAcademy UK percussion instruments increases joy inmaking music and rhythm. At stage 1, action songs encourage quick thinking skills and also help to learn accent and dialect. Stage 1 ACTAcademy (Ages 4-7)
 
Stage 1 ACTAcademy UK provides performing arts tuition, in hands on workshops for ages 4-7years. With the emphasis on learning through heaps of fun, the workshops last for two hours and cover the three disciplines of drama, dance and song with music.
 

After registration and the ACTAcademy UK welcome song, half an hour of song and music builds tuning,pitch, rhythmic coordination, cooperation, speech and language development and very importantly, confidence.
 
After a short break for juice and fruit, with 'Theatre Word of the Week', Stage 1 move onto dramatic storytelling, poetry, acting and public speaking techniques, increasing communication and quick thinking skills, imaginative problem solving and self-confidence on stage.
 
To finish, Stage 1 spend time on dance, developing coordination, muscle condition rhythm and a joy in movement. Dance at this stage takes the form of basic ballet techniques and positions, contemporary and musical theatre skills, using ribbons, pom poms and other aides to communication through the body alone, including physical theatre and mime. The young students take part in 'Chance to Dance'™ each week, where freedom of expression and increasing body confidence is paramount.
 
ACTAcademy UK Stage 1 is an excellent foundation level for Stage 2, giving the necessary social and technical skills to develop into a confident performer. ACTAcademy UK Stage 1 workshops also compliment the transition from pre-school to primary, giving a child creative thinking skills, imagination, poise and the ability, coupled with the personality,to make good friends easily at school.
