Stage 2 ACTAcademy UK

Ages 8-12

ACTAcademy UK follows a bespoke curriculum in all lessons, for all age groups. This sets us apart from other peripatetic stage schools, and we are extremely proud of our teachings, compiled through years of research, study, experience and student feedback. We are able to engage all the senses; we incorporate all learning styles, in order to maximise and reinforce learning outcomes and objectives. Throughout the country, we know what each and every class is learning at any  one time! This enables us to ensure all students receive an outstanding and consistent education and vocational training in the performing arts.

ACTAcademy Stage 2 will perform to the public twice a year. Showcases allow each young performer the chance to shine. Ability is irrelevant, we believe all young people should be given the opportunity to take centre stage and show their personal improvement through dedication and hard work to a supportive audience. Performance is one of the most enjoyable aspects of being an ACTAcademy UK student, and promotes teamwork and organisation. Other opportunities may arise throughout the year, dependant on location. Your workshop Director will have more details of these.

Workshops at Stage 2 consist of two hours tution in the three main areas of performing arts; drama, dance and song. Within each of these three disciplines, students have the opportunity to explore and learn various subjects, including improvisation, directing, choreography, street dance, mime and musical theatre. Workshops are an excellent way to learn; active, fun, interesting and challenging.

Stage 2 - Supporting Education

Is your child dyslexic, or perhaps has other behavioural, social or learning difficulties? ACTAcademy UK Workshops have a proven track record of giving these children a pride in achievement, joy in learning and self belief, in order to become actively engaged with the governments education system.

Is your child a kineasthetic learner? Do they learn best through 'doing'? Then ACTAcademy UK workshops are a brilliant way to encourage learning in a very practical and hands on experiential way. On many occasions, Directors have been informed of an improvement at school or home, simply through participation in the weekly classes. It really is amazing, the power of the performing arts to inspire and develop any child is immense, and all our team are advocates of this 'force for change'.

We have numerous letters from parents thanking us for the effect ACTAcademy UK teachings have had on theirs and their child's life, giving confidence and self-motivation skills and for giving their child the chance to shine outside of school. Because we also teach students how to be a good audience, self-control, focus, concentration and appropriate polite behaviour is learnt subconsciously. These acheivements are also actively encouraged and rewarded through our Bronze Award Scheme, which all ACTAcademy UK Stage 2 students work towards.
